A woman shot multiple times leaves the hospital a little over a week later and enters a church. Two small white coffins sit at the front of the pews. Her story is a true testament to the sound of survival.

When I attended this funeral for two little girls lost in a horrific crime, I expected to see pure brokenness. Instead, I witnessed something I couldn’t explain. A sound rose up from that hot, crowded church that changed how I understood faith, strength, and forgiveness. When the singing started, it was the loudest, most joyous sound I had ever heard.

This is the true story of my family’s connection to a brutal crime, and the incredible, almost unbelievable journey of a woman who chose victory over being a victim. It’s a lesson in living that will shake you.

This event changed how I understood faith, strength, and forgiveness. It’s a moment I carry with me still, one that made me ask,

This is the story of Dorothy Lewis. An unimaginable tale of resilience and finding forgiveness in pain. Read the whole story on my Diary Of A Storyteller Substack Page!
